BILTONG dried meat with crushed red Kampot pepper - 50g

With their experiences in South Africa, where this type of dried meat has its origins, they have become some of the leading specialists in its preparation. As a result, they continuously strive to improve their methods and explore new ways to create the perfect biltong, with Kampot pepper being their loyal companion in this endeavor.

While everyone is familiar with classic jerky, which consists of small pieces of dried meat, biltong is relatively lesser-known. Biltong is a specially prepared dried meat that is sliced into strips after the drying process, unlike jerky. This makes biltong incredibly juicy, flavorful, and authentic. Due to its thicker slices, it closely resembles fresh meat. It is primarily made from beef, but you can also find biltong made from other meats like lamb, antelope, ostrich, or game.

Compared to jerky, the ingredients used to season biltong are different, giving it a unique flavor profile. We decided to incorporate the best of South Asia into the special preparation process, with the addition of red Kampot pepper. The result is a truly global taste experience.

Ingredients: beef, apple cider vinegar, coriander, pepper, garlic, salt, whole red Kampot pepper (1.25%). The product does not contain any allergens or substances from the World Anti-Doping Code List of Prohibited Substances. Store in a dry and cool place in a tightly closed container, at a temperature of up to 25°C, and do not expose the meat to direct sunlight.

The red Kampot pepper found in the product is a specialty of Kampot plantations, where the pepper grains are allowed to ripen until they reach a rich red color full of fructose. They are then harvested and sun-dried, acquiring their characteristic dark red color.

Rare red pepper is an explosion of fruity tones with milder spiciness. Initially, rose and rosehip fruit tones dominate, which then transition into dried cherries. After two to three minutes, more characteristic scents for Kampot pepper begin to develop, such as citrus fruits, dried tangerines, and earthier crusts of sourdough bread.

Whether you're going on a full-day hike in the mountains or need a quick snack in the urban jungle, biltong is always a handy choice. Just grab a few pieces, chew, and enjoy the perfect taste of peppered meat. But be careful, it's a very addictive treat, and the bag can be empty in the blink of an eye.

To ensure you can always carry biltong with you, we pack it in resealable bags. This way, the meat is always protected and remains fresh. However, we recommend consuming it relatively soon after opening. If unopened, it can last for up to one year.
